About Us
The Civic Studio is a multi-disciplinary design practice that seamlessly interweaves between Architecture, Design & Urbanism . Since 2014, the firm has dealt with a wide gamut of design solutions from high performance industrial interiors for the nuclear reactor at kalpakkam, to modest spaces for a popular school in Chennai, to bustling retail showroom at Phoenix marketcity and recently a pre-engineered a fully structurally glazed building for a restaurant in Adyar to name a few.
We are always looking to explore ourselves under the wider gamut of design from art & craft commissions, furniture, Interior design, Architecture, and Urbanism.
The Team
Sakthi Bhuvaneswari R
Founder, Principal Architect
The firm is led by Sakthi Bhuvaneswari, a qualified Architect from Anna university, who specializes in sustainable design and performance of built environment from CEPT University Ahmedabad. She has travelled across geographies for study and has notably gained field experience from Europe & USA prior to the inception of her independent practice with The Civic Studio.
Sakthi is also an artist and a classical singer and digs mythology to find an expression in her art endeavours
